How to remove Write Protected status from Pendrive
Generally we use pendrives or USB drives to transfer data across several platforms, various systems, desktops, laptops etc. With the ever increasing virus content across internet, most of the pendrives are getting infected, leading to different problems.
Most of the pendrives are delivering a write protected status and I just to help you guys out from that problem
Problem: (Any or all of the below)
- Pendrive does not show files. Files are hidden
- Pendrive doesnt allow to modify files
- Pendrive / Drive doesnt allow formatting.
To encounter this problem follow the below steps
Step 1: Press Windows Key + R ( Open Run)
Step 2: Type cmd
Step 3: Type the drive character to work on... If you have mounted your pen drive and the drive is H then type H:
Step 4: This is the most important step
Type the following
attrib -r -a -s -h H: /s
Now we can observe that all the hidden files shall appear. read only status is also removed.
