Finally Its done. Good News for telangana guys. Government meeting in Delhi approves Telangana. Today, 26th July 2013, in New Delhi, the Congress party has held up a special meeting. Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran kumar reddy and other top ministers were urgently called for the meeting this morning.

The meeting was led by the congress party president Sonia gandhi and prime minister. There was lot of debate and discussion in the Congress war-room in Delhi.

The meeting discussions mainly had their focus on whether to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to create a new state of Telangana. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said that a decision is "now awaited" from the government.

Tatkal booking is one of the most top note feature of Indian Railways. To benefit the unplanned travellers, Indian Railways has introduced the scheme few years ago.

During the last few years the scheme has been revised several times to prevent misuse of the scheme and eliminate any fradulent activities. The ministry of railways is striving best to give the most to the common man.

Recent Rules and News for Tatkal booking

1. The Advance Reservation Period (ARP) of Tatkal scheme is reduced from two days to one day excluding the day of journey from the train originating station. For example, if train is to depart from the originating station on the second of the month, the Tatkal quota booking for that particular train will open at 10:00 hrs on the first of the month from originating station.

2. For booking Tatkal e-tickets, each of the passengers (mandatory for at least one passenger) can enter his/her ID proof type and number against his/her name in reservation form, which is to be used for travel. These details will be printed on the ERS/VRM as well as in the reservation chart.

3.During the journey, at least one passenger, whose identity card number has been indicated on the ticket, will have to produce original proof of identity indicated on the ticket, failing which all the passengers booked on the ticket shall be treated as travelling without ticket and charged accordingly.

4. Maximum of four passengers per PNR can be booked on Tatkal e-tickets.

5. No refund will be granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal ticket except in case of circumstance mentioned in para 2 of instructions contained in Commercial Circular no. 53 of 2006 issued vide letter no. 2006/TGI-I/20/P/Tatkal, dated 30.06.2006. Incase of Waitlisted Tatkal tickets, the money shall be refunded for e-tickets and for tickets purchased in counter, the cancellation charges shall be applied

6. Partial cancellation of Tatkal e-tickets is allowed but at least one passenger with ID card printed on ERS/VRM should not be cancelled. On cancellation of all the passengers whose ID card details is printed on ERS/VRM, all the passengers on that e-ticket will be cancelled.

7. Authorized ID – The personal Photo Identification card falling in any of these nine categories

8. Ration card will be accepted as proof of identity for undertaking journey under Tatkal scheme only if the passenger whose photograph is available on the ration card is travelling.

Mid day meal has brought death to the children in Bihar, Patna. Nine children have died in Bihar, allegedly as a result of food-poisoning from the free mid-day meal provided at their school near Chhapra in the central part of the state, 60 kms from the state capital Patna. Those who died were all younger than 10.
Hoping that their children would study and eat well in school, the parents were working in fields. But the basic idea of mid day meal has lost its charm leaving everyone in vain.

Another 40 children have been admitted to a local hospital; 10 of them are in critical condition, said sources.
The mid-day meal caused severe food poisoning, said sources. Several hundred people surrounded the local police station this evening demanding action against the school.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry and announced compensation of Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of the children who died.
The opposition BJP , which was dumped recently by the chief minister after a 17-year partnership, was quick to politicize the tragedy. "Such incidents did not happen even during Lalu Prasad's government," said BJP leader Giriraj Singh.

PSLV - C22 successfully launches India's first dedicated navigational satellite IRNSS-1A from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota

ISRO has successfully launched on Monday, its first dedicated navigation satellite using the Polar satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) which blasted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 11:41 pm on Monday.

Developed by India, the IRNSS-1A, the first of the seven satellites constituting the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) space segment, has a mission life of 10 years.  It is designed to provide accurate position information service to users in the country as well as the region extending up to 1,500 km from its boundary, which is its primary service area. The IRNSS constitutes of 3 satellites in Geo stationary orbit and four in geo synchronous orbit.
