Chennai Express Movie Review August 2013

CHENNAI EXPRESS is latest bollywood film directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie is starred by Shahrukh khan and Deepika Padukone. The movie is released on 08 August 2013.

The movie has got perfect and tremendous response as anticipated by King Khan. Chennai Express can be said as an Outstanding Entertainer

Shahrukh Deepika Chennai Express MovieThe plot of the movie Chennai Express seems to be very simple but interesting plot. As usual Shahrukh is named Rahul. Rahul goes on to a journey of his lifetime where he connects with Meena (Deepika). This not only changes his entire life style but also makes him realise several important aspects of life. Tangaballi (Nikitin Dheer) who is good friend of Durgeshwara (Sathyaraj) puts forth every possible hurdle. But all the fun, song and dance make this journey an experience full of entertainment or we say dhamaal!

Best of the Movie:
Performance wise Shahrukh Khan excels and excels big time. His comic timing has taken the movie to the next level. Deepika is the real surprise to everyone. She made tremendous effort with full of surprises in every frame.

But it is director Rohit Shetty who keeps proceedings racy and his command over providing the right mix of entertainment makes this special. There is a song followed by super dialogue and then some nail biting action.

Overall this is a film SRK and Rohit shetty have done a very fine film. The movie, Chennai Express, has got all the elements viz. comedy, entertainment, action, mass attraction and even one item song.

Minuses
Film takes time to warm up, shooting locales are not at par with big films of SRK, script takes too many turns in due course

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Verdict: Watch Chennai Express for the real entertainment.

Nasha Movie Review Hindi 2013

Nasha movie of Poonam Pandey has turned out to be Sazaa to all the theatre audience.
Poonam Pandey's Bollywood debut movie Nasha has got nothing but an overdose of the to the word 'sex'. You could bitterly find any worthy performance. Nasha is an erotic thriller by Amit Saxena, the director of Bipasha Basu's Jism.
Nasha was released on 26th July 2013.

Story:
Nasha is the story of an 18 year old boy who falls in love with a 25 year old girl. There being a lot of age difference, he cannot have her. But his desire towards her increases and  turns into obsessions.
Nasha throws light on the growing up ages and the stories of teenage infatuation, that at times get highly influenced by lust and sexual attractions. Though Saxena sexes up a major portion of the film, there's also a genuine, emotional factor that could not be ignored.
Performances:
Poonam Pandey's acting is pathetic in the movie. The newcomer Shivam is rather far better and confident than Poonam. Poonam tried to carry over much then expected.
Verdict
Nasha is the movie which purely revolves around the word Sex. But the director failed to realise that another word called Acting is more important than that.

Alias Janaki Movie Review Telugu 2013

Alias Janaki Movie is latest telugu movie released on July 26th 2013. Being a low budget movie, the film Alias janaki has not got all the required publicity.

Story
Alias Janaki ReviewJanaki Ram (Rahul Venkat) is employee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. He falls in love with a cute girl Chaitra (Anisha). On the parallel, villian Maisa tries to grab local lands of Lalnagar by all means. Janaki Ram tries to oppose villian Maisa to protect the lands but ironically the whole system gets corrupted and tries to repel him. Rest is all about how Janaki Ram teaches a lesson to Maisa and the corrupt officials supporting him.

Overall Performance
Rahul Venkat, the new boy in Tollywood from Mega family (Nephew of Mega family) does not look really like a hero. His looks, dialogue delivery and expressions were not upto the mark. On the other hand Anisha Ambrose is cute but have very little to perform. The director just for the sake of saying says they are lovers but there is no chemistry at all.

Overall
Alias Janaki is not upto the expectations and mostly has got nothing to watch. The picturisation as well as the utilisation of the resources is no way close.

Mariyaan Tamil Movie Review

Mariyaan is the latest flick of Dhanush and Parvathi Menon. Directed by Bharath Bala, Mariyaan is getting huge response across the native.

With the blockbuster Raanjhanaa, Dhanush has come up with Mariyan to impress his own audience again.
Mariyaan deals with the story of construction fishermen (Dhanush) who has very close proximity and bond to the Sea. He earns his livelihood in the sea and this make him more attached to it. Infact he calls himself the Prince of the Ocean.
Mariyaan Tamil MoviePanimalar (Parvathi Menon) has played the role of a model wife, who forces Dhanush to change his job and asks him to go to Sudan. The movie takes a turn at this movement.
Typically Dhanush's movies used to be one-man show, but in this movie, female lead Parvathi Menon turns out to be strong character at the end. However, the suffering character portrayed by Dhanush is not new as he has played several such characters in the past.
Mariyaan means immortal and director Bharath Bala showcases two immortal things on screen - one is Mariyaan and another is his love. The movie concludes saying 'Love is Immortal.'

The Conjuring: Movie Review

Well, today I am talking about the movie 'The Conjuring', It can be rated as the Summers scariest movie. The movie has received an R rating, although there's no sex, foul language, guns or any violence. Patrick Wilson the star of the movie expected to get PG-13 but the rating board said the movie was too terrifying and they could not help it.

The director of the movie is James Wan, who is famous for his Saw and Insidious flicks. He said "I made Saw to get people's attention, but I didn't realize how successful it would be. I wanted to show that I could make a scary movie that doesn't rely on the shock factor of blood and guts."

Lootera Movie Review Hindi 2013

Lootera is a bollywood movie cast by Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh . The movie was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane . Fame of sonakshi sinha has raised the expectations of the movie.

An epic canvas, a quiet love story, a cops-and-robbers drama and an impressively sophisticated storytelling style: Lootera has all this and much more.

Vikramaditya Motwane, who earned his spurs with the critically acclaimed Udaan in 2010, works here with a completely different cinematic easel. What he has carved out of the raw material at his disposal can only bolster his reputation as a filmmaker who knows exactly how not to be run of the mill.

He fills the Lootera frame with fable, history, art, literature, poetry, occasional nods to classic Hindi cinema and music, and loads of passion, beauty and magic.

In short, Lootera is a Bollywood miracle – a rare Mumbai film that is mounted on a lavish scale and yet dares not to play by the established norms of the marketplace.

Even the title is informed with a cocky air of defiance. Lootera raises visions of another Rowdy Rathore kind of film, and then proceeds to completely pull down all preconceived notions that the name might trigger.

Falling leaves of an autumnal tree and a girl who is assailed by thoughts of dying – the two essential components of the O Henry short story (The Last Leaf) that provides the basis of the narrative – are the principal elements in Lootera.

But Motwane adds many more layers to the tale by weaving, among other things, a Baba Nagarjun poem about the end of a bout of famine in a village into his film. It enhances the already strong elegiac undertone.

Lootera celebrates the past, mourns the demise of love, life and things of joy and beauty, but in the end affirms the primacy of the human spirit and the power of art to tide over the blows of fate.

The film is a period drama that unfolds over two years, 1953 and 1954, a time of great upheaval for the Bengal aristocracy.

Zamindari is abolished and the world of the Zamindar of Manikpur (Barun Chanda) is on the verge of collapse. It is pushed over the edge by a rakish intruder, Varun (Ranveer Singh), who rides into this wobbly setting, claiming to be an archaeologist who has been entrusted with the task of excavating the place in quest of an ancient civilisation.

He not only quickly earns the ageing aristocrat’s confidence but also sweeps the man’s beloved daughter, Pakhi (Sonakshi Sinha), off her feet.

Love, tremulous at first and then full-blown and physical, blossoms as furtive glances, frequent dinners, car rides and informal painting classes allow the two to explore each other’s feelings.

Her father dotes on the ailing Pakhi, who often runs out of breath and needs urgent medical attention. As she recuperates, the zamindar narrates to her the legend of a brave and invincible Bhil monarch whose life resided in the breast of a parrot.

I cannot draw leaves, the Shantiniketan-trained girl tells the charmer, and requests him to teach her. It turns out that he isn’t much of a tutor although he believes that he has it in him to produce one last masterpiece.

When Varun’s job is done and it is time to part, the distraught Pakhi pleads with him not to leave. The latter responds with a matter-of-fact: Behtar hoga aap jaaiye (You better leave).

Pakhi snaps, “Behtar hoga mar jaaiye (Better die), and walks away. Death and desire are two sides of the same coin in Lootera, and Motwane builds up an atmosphere of love and longing through touches that leave much unsaid, adding to the allure of the film.

His characters – the film has only a handful – deliver their lines almost in whispers. The outstanding sound design, which, like everything else in the film, is delivered unobtrusively, helps the ambience emerge.

The musical score (Amit Trivedi) and the lyrics (Amitabh Bhattacharya) are in perfect consonance with the universe that Lootera conjures up.

Lootera uses silence and stillness wonderfully well. In such moments of repose, one can hear footsteps on a hilly pathway or a piece of paper being crumpled, and that is such a rarity in a Hindi film.

The two halves of Lootera are distinct chapters: the gold, russet and green of the Bengal landscape gives way to the pale, snowy, hilly heights of north India. Each is filmed in muted hues by cinematographer Mahendra J Shetty, whose contribution to the overall impact of the work is enormous.

Every actor in Lootera, irrespective of the footage he or she gets, is an unmistakable presence. Both Ranveer and Sonakshi are first-rate although there are passages in the film when one wonders whether a pair of more mature actors might have raised the bar just a little.

But there can be no denying that Sonakshi, playing a well defined character for the first time in her career, does rise to the challenge. Barun Chanda makes a believable zamindar. Vikrant Massey, cast as the hero’s witty accomplice who adores Dev Anand, is clearly cut out for greater things as a big screen actor.

Adil Husain injects characteristic gravitas into the character of the Dalhousie investigator on a fugitive’s trail.

Arif Zakaria, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Shirin Guha make brief appearances but lasting impressions.

Now the big question: will a film like Lootera work at the box office? The question is irrelevant. It wouldn’t matter, at least from the critical point of view, even if it were to fail to get its point across to an audience weaned on Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardar and suchlike. It would still be a magnificent film.

Rating: 3/5

Singam (Yamudu 2) Movie Review

Sinagm (Yamudu 2) is released on July 5th 2013. It is cast by Suriya, Anushka, hansika, etc. The movie was directed by Hari.

The movie is a sequel to the previous movie Yamudu in telugu.

Plot:
The movie begins with yamudu scenes showcasing Suriya's past and why he was sent to Kakinada. He comes with a mission to crack illegal weapon business running in the coastal area of Kakinada but soon realises that its not just Weapon business that is running over there but a Drug Mafia is set up. He works as a NCC Master in a private school where Hansika studies as an Intermediate 2nd Yr student. She falls for Suriya's Heroism and wants him to love her. She happens to be the niece of Thyagaraj (Rahman) who is a big businessman in Kakinada.

The whole Drug Mafia is run by Dannie. Suriya accidentally arrests Dannie without realising his identity which leads Dannie to develop grudge against Suriya.

Why did he arrest Dannie? How has he put a check to Drug Mafia forms rest of the Story
singam telugu movie

Movie Positives:
Undoubtedly its all SURIYA'S one man show. He carries of the role with ease. The emotion in his face makes you stick to your seats and watch the movie.

Anushka is super helpful with her Glamour but nothing to do with the story. Hansika though is a Second Heroine has played a very crucial role which lead to the emotional climax.

Logics used in the movie are very good. Santhanam is gud wid some superb one liners especially the dialogue "Vayasulo undaga figaru.. Vayasu ayipoyaka Sugar tappavu" is one such example

Parents of Suriya and Anushka have done their jobs effectively. The Second Half is completely plus for the movie with gud content n emotion. The Story picks up rapid pace after Suriya takes charge as an officer. Some fights were shot well and climax chase was gud

Negatives :
Disappointment for anushka fans as she is only used for songs and her acting capabilty is not fully utilised. BGM during some scenes is irritating. Songs and locations are not upto the mark. First 45 min is very slow with some unnecessary dragged and loud scenes. The movie suffers with excessive Tamil nativity. Dubbing n RR could have been much Better.

The movie goes one sided-ly through out.Their is no elevation of Villains in any of the Scenes

Final Verdict:
Singam (yamudu-2) misses to touch the margin set by Yamudu. Hari's trademark direction may work well with Tamil Audience but it tough to connect with A Centre AP audience.

If you like Yamudu you would feel Singam as an average movie or else watch it without an expectation.

Balupu Movie Review Telugu 2013

Cast: Ravi Teja, Sruthi Haasan, Anjali, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Lakshmi Rai, Ali etc..
Story: Kona Venkat, Bobby
Music: S S Taman
Cinematography: Jayanan Vincent
Editing: Gautham Raju
Art: A S Prakash
Produced by: Param V Potluri
Presented by: Pearl V Potluri
Banner: PVP Cinema
Screenplay and directed by: Gopichand Malineni
Release Date: June 28, 2012
CBFC Rating: A

Story
Ravi Teja is a bank recovery agent and leads a peaceful life with his father Prakash Raj in Bangalore. Unexpectedly he meets Shruti Haasan and her uncle Brahmanandam. Cheating naïve young men is what Shruti and her uncle are good at. Ravi Teja wants to teach them a lesson. As he does that he falls in love with her. Nasser ( Shruthi’s father) and Prakash Raj decide to get them married. Enters Ashutosh Rana and we come to know the buried past of Ravi Teja and Prakash Raj. What is that? Where does Anjali fit in?

Ravi Teja does what he is good at. His punch dialogues are mind blowing. The actor who was going through a rough patch has arrived. The drought days of his career are over with the release of Balupu. His comedy, action and dialogue delivery are the big pluses for Balupu. When Ravi Teja performed like Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh and Balakrishna it was all astounding.

Shruti Haasan has acting in her genes no doubt. Kamal's daughter has done a brilliant job. Shruti simply sizzles on the screen. Anjali does complete justice to her role. She gives that perfect performance that her role demands. Prakash Raj is a great performer and he proves that again in Balupu. Lakhsmi Rai sizzles in her item number. The film would have been incomplete without Brahmi. Crazy Mohan is a delight to watch.  The scenes between, Ravi Teja, Brahmi and Shruti are an absolute treat.
The first half of the film completely focuses on good comedy. In the second half it is action. Director Gopichand Malineni has strived to strike a perfect combination of all elements for a good film. His effort would have yielded results, if he had a strong script in hand. Dialogues are good. Thaman's music fits in well. Cinematography is decent. Editing could have been crisper. Shruti Haasan's glamour and Brahmanandam's comedy are another assets. PVP cinema's production values are definitely worth a mention.

Bottom-line
Overall Balupu is a masala entertainer with good comedy. Ravi Teja is in his elements and definitely he is back! Glamour quotient of heroines and Brahmanandam's superb comedy has also worked in favour of the movie. Go for its entertainment value.

Ghanchakkar Movie Review

Ghanchakkar - Vidya spins another stellar performance alongside the exceptional Emraan Hashmi in one of the most thrilling comedies ever
 Ganchakkar Movie review

Much like his loud-mouthed, outlandishly-dressed Punjabi leading lady who goes about stirring a little too much or too less salt in her dishes, it's tough not to ignore director Rajkumar Gupta's 'Ghanchakkar'.

He tickles us with one of the most thrilling comedies, one that blatantly defies Bollywood stereotypes.

No buffoonery. No over-the-top characters (barring one). No slapstick moments. Just normal situations that get twisted and turned due to one man's fading memory.

Yet, the jokes never run out and are paced sensibly, allowing us to appreciate Rajkumar Gupta's vision.

His poker-faced hero shoulders much of the movie, walking away with some of the best lines, but he selflessly allows his crazy wife and the two rogues who shadow him, enough screen space to showcase their talents.

At two-hours-and-17-minutes, Rajkumar Gupta's efforts does appear a little too indulgent, with the narrative slipping into slow-mode occasionally, but it's all forgiven as he brilliantly ties it all together.

He doesn't play safe and springs a clever twist, aiming for an incredibly crazy end.

Rajkumar's efforts, however, might be tough to digest for those grown on an appetite of Bollywood cliches. But, for the rest of us, it will be greatly appreciated.

Even his refusal to spoon-feed his audience, which is quite the norm in Bollywood thrillers, works in his favour. He allows each event to unfold at its own pace, and gives us ample time to exercise our grey cells.

Rajkumar and his co-writer Parvez Sheikh create a quirky world around "lazy lad" Sanjay, who is forced to embark on a whirlwind journey as he tries to piece together events of his past in a bid to salvage a massive treasure, which he had helped to rob.

His efforts are heightened as he and his mad-cap, fashion-conscious wife are both held hostage by the two goons who had partnered him in the crime.

They taunt and torture them, hoping to regain their share, but his sporadic memory loss plays spoilsport.

Emraan Hashmi spins one of his acting career's most understated, yet imposing performances. He crafts Sanjay's predicaments – his anger, frustration and suspicions – with effortless charm. Apart from the one night-out in his polka-dotted pyjamas, his costumes, unfortunately remain colourless.

Story Line:
The story of the film revolves around Sanjay Athray (Emraan Hashmi) and his loud Punjabi wife Neetu (Vidya Balan). Sanjay robs a bank with two other thieves and they decide to meet after three months and distribute the money equally. But during those three months Sanjay meets with an accident which leads to his partial memory loss. Sanjay forgets where he kept the briefcase full of money. Robbers give him one week time to figure out where he kept the briefcase.

Vidya allows us to delve deeper into who she really is. Whether it's whipping the baddies for hurting her husband or mocking her mother-in-law for her daily phone routine, Vidya doesn't miss a beat.

Equally striking are Namit Das and Rajesh Sharma who play the ruffians Idris and Pandit.

'Ghanchakkar' relies heavily on the duo, and they don't falter. Their versatility is evident as they tackle comedy and crime astoundingly well.

Of the many moments that Rajkumar captures, it's the robbery where the trio are masked like Bollywood veterans that is the most side-splitting. A midnight chase, with one stripped to his bare essentials, also is hilarious.

Raanjhanaa Movie Review June 2013

Movie Review Raanjhana Hindi 2013
Movie Raanjhanaa

Raanjhanaa, meaning Male lover is a 2013 Indian romantic film, directed by Anand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma. Starred by Dhanush, Abhay Deol, Sonam Kapoor is also released as Ambikapathy in Tamil on June 28th. The film is produced by Krishika Lulla under the banner Eros International and written by Himanshu Sharma.

Star cast: Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor, Abhay DeolSwara Bhaskar, Mohammad Zeeshan
Director: Anand L. Rai

What’s Good: A charming first half, Abhay Deol’s heartmelting dimples and the prevailing innocence in the story’s milieu will have you absorbed.

What’s Bad: Yet again, the second half goes absolutely haywire and butchers the high the film’s first half attains.

Story Line:
It starts in Benaras. A gully guy falls in love with a Muslim girl. He follows her in several ways and impresses her. Meanwhile the girls family discovers about them and sends her off to Aligarh, parting them.
While she moves on and builds a new life, falls in love again, the gully guy is still madly in love with her. Where does this tale of unrequited love head for?

Dhanush has in him the Superstar persona. He performs with clever and quenching mirth. With unmatched energy, the man does stand out solidly. Though his diction fails, the innocence in his work and the naivety he gets in Kunder is laudable.

Sonam Kapoor is pretty but renders no marrow to her role, leaving it insipid and hollow! Her flat expressions in the film’s most climatic moments do some crucial and irreparable damage!
Abhay Deol in his few minutes managed to do the most impressive job. His tantalizing dimples are indeed magical and as an actor he is indeed fascinating!

Rating - 3.5/5

One day while walking on the terrace he observed a man teaching golf to a woman (Ameesha Patel) through his binoculars, he sees a man teaching golf to a woman.  As he observed closely, he witnesses them getting 'dirty'. Next day, he goes closer to the golf course and shoots them. Then the story of blackmailing begins. It is known that the man who is teaching golf to Ameesha Patel is her husband's best friend. Husband is too busy earning money, so friend takes charge of bored wife.

Hero does not want money, but wants to die rich. So whenever he needs cash, he dials Ameesha. He has three friends, and they all decide to take a jaunt abroad to Kenya. Ameesha will pay, of course

There he meets a millionaire's daughter, Puja Gupta. She is always with a bodyguard. He falls in love with her and buys her expensive gifts. Ameesha and boyfriend meanwhile are worried. Her husband, however, does not mind her splurging over Rs 5 crore on Neil. No questions asked.

In Kenya, however, things turn bad for Neil. Then Puja is kidnapped. He learns that it is Ameesha who has done this. He wants his love back while she wants the tape back. Meanwhile, husband senses some trouble and sets out a detective at work. In between all this there are plenty of songs.

Thats the story. It looked crap to me and i wondered why i stayed all long to watch the entire movie. Shortcut romeo is a sort cut to waste ones money.

The film starts off with Posani Krishna Murali and Sunil. Posani is a film director and Sunil is the hero. This is a story that Sunil narrates to Posani.Bava (Allari Naresh), Ajay (Kick Shyam), Shiva (Vaibhav) and Purush (Raju Sundaram) are thick friends. They grow up together and share everything in life. While Bava is an easy going person, Ajay and Shiva are seen as more mature and responsible people. Purush is a comical flirt. They wake up with a heavy Hangover and all hell breaks loose when they discover that a member is missing from their gang.As the wedding date approaches, they desperately search for the missing guy. Will they succeed in their efforts? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points :
  • The film has really good 3D effects. There are a number of scenes where viewers will experience high quality 3D sequences and the entire team must be appreciated for having the courage and the conviction to attempt this film.
  • Allari Naresh is really good in the lead role. He has tried his best to make the comedy work. Kick Shyam and Vaibhav are ok. Raju Sundaram brings a few laughs with his antics and punches. Sudeep is brilliant in a cameo appearance. Sneha Ullal has come up with a very glamorous performance in the film. Neelam Upadhyay is neat and effective.
  • Brahmanamdam is ok as Magnet Mama. M.S.Narayana entertains with spoofs on Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and Siddharth. Master Bharath has done a decent job.
  • Songs have been shot well. ‘Ding Dong Bell’ and ‘Swathy Muthyapu Jallulalo’ have excellent visuals.
Minus Points :
  • The film keeps losing pace at times, especially during the forest episodes and the climax sequences. Some scenes should have been edited out to improve the overall experience.
  • Some of the comedy sequences appear a little outdated and cliched.
  • Technical Aspects :
  • The film’s cinematographer and stereographer need to be appreciated for doing a very fine job with the visuals. Editing could have been a lot better. Sunny’s background score is decent. Dialogues are ok in places but they are not too impressive.
  • Director Anil Sunkara has done a good job with the visuals and he has taken care of the technical aspects in a proficient manner. But the screenplay and scene development could have been better. Production values are rich.
Final Word: Watch it for impressive 3D effects, Allari Naresh, Raju Sundaram and Sneha Ullal
